This is a great website for students of Karate! and not just Shorin Ryu!! I had the honor of meeting Nakazato Shugoro Sensei while I was stationed on Okinawa and studying with Gibu Sokuichi Sensei. Thank-you for giving us a sorce to study the history of Shorin Ryu!!

Well Done!

When I first pulled up this website the graphics stimulated me and the pictures excited me. But as I went from webpage to webpage within this site, it became very
clear that this is without any doubt one of the very best tributes to the Okinawan Art of Shorin-Ryu Karate. I extend my congratulations and thanks to both Shihan Emmanuel (Manny) Borbon and webmasters: Patrick Callan and Kelly Ruth for their dedication, devotion and efforts to share the history and knowledge of the martial art of Yamashita Sensei's Karate System.

    Hello, hope you remember me sensei. I'm Jason I was part of your Yamashita
karate boys club Garfield ave. New London. I was surfing the web and I come
upon this and it truly excited me. brought back some of my good memories of
karate. its a nice web site.
    just want to tell you that IM doing real good I'm in 2nd year of my
college .and honestly you have made a real impact in my life. of course if you
didn't pick me of the street I would have been in jail by now lol .just want to
thank you for that. My mom want to say thank you too.

Hey Guys!   The Morth's are "in the house!!!"

We're glad to be back at karate! Missed everyone. Just wanted to comment
that when we were looking for a karate studio to send our kids to, we knew
that it was truly the Lord that brought us to your dojo!! Not only do our
children learn about respect, see the benefits of hard work and have a great
time, but that it is only through the Lord Jesus Christ that all things are
possible. Keep up the awesome job!!

Dear Shihan Borbon and Family,

If we can possibly refresh your memory of your trip to Temecula, CA in June 2001 - our five year old daughter, Stephanie, was the little white belt, with the pony tail, that you personally spent time helping at the seminar with Yamashita. (Happy to report, she just earned her yellow belt this past Saturday!!)

We wanted to personally thank you, and your family, for your time and effort spent with our daughter and also to tell you that the seminar truly inspired Louie and I to begin instruction under Kyoshi and Shihan Knight. Our journey has begun!!! It is difficult for me to put into words the way we feel since we have started classes. To say the least, we feel privileged to live in Temecula where we can learn, and venture into the "family" of Shorin-Ryu Okinawan Karate. Thank you so much for attending the seminar and for being a vital part of a life-changing experience for us, as a family. We are looking forward to the next seminar, which we will be attending as a family.

Hi Sensei and everyone at the "dojo"!

Just checking my e-mail and thought I'd look you up! The website looks really good!! Seeing the pictures made me wish that my kids were back in karate. Hey, you never know..... Just wanted to let you know that Meg is doing a concert at the Cornerstone Bookstore Coffeehouse on Friday, Oct. 11 from 7 to 9 PM. I know that you have a class then. But was hoping that you would pray for her, that all would go well. She's very excited and is looking forward to it. We will come by to see you. We miss you and think of you all often!
